Thank you for your kind encouragement over the last week. Each reply to my emails about going back to school meant so much. Oh, by the way, tomorrow marks the last day of this class. Then it's on to the next one, heading toward graduation in May 2027. Dave and I are once again traveling to spend time with our family. We're enjoying the fall changes in Utah with our kids and grandkids. I'll send a few pictures next week. What’s Been On My Heart What do you do when your heart and mind argue over an issue? Has that happened to you? It has happened to me several times. The Bible encourages us to follow God's ways through trust and faith. When we do, our thoughts and heart become congruent. "You have charged us to keep your commandments carefully. Oh, that my actions would consistently reflect your decrees!" — Psalm 119:4-5 (NLT) Christine Caine asked a question in a recent devotional that stayed with me: "What if you start asking all your questions with a faith perspective?" Dear one, what would change for you? Something for You Sometimes the argument isn't between your heart and mind. It's between your mind and your body. You know the facts. So why does your heart still race when his phone lights up? Betrayal doesn't stay in your head. Your body stored the shock of discovery, the lies, and the late nights searching for answers. It keeps bracing long after your mind understands what happened. That's why I'm teaming up with Sylvia Tillmann of Tremendous TRE for a free 60-minute webinar, I Know I'm Safe, So Why Do I Feel on Edge?. I'll walk you through LET, a simple three-part framework for the moments your body sounds the alarm. Sylvia, a certified TRE® Provider, will introduce and demonstrate a practice that can help your body release built-up tension and settle your nervous system. You'll leave with:

My business coach keeps asking me the same question on our calls lately: what are you focused on? While this question asks me to evaluate every aspect of my business, my coach also knows I am a holistic person. I'm not a business person and a separate individual living some other life. I'm just me. What’s Been On My Heart How often do interruptions pull you out of focus? If you're honest, it's probably your own limitations doing most of the interrupting. They're loud and impossible to ignore,...
Emery and I made pretzels together on our last vacation. I love this little video of flour-dusted hands twisting dough. I stopped to grab some pictures of how the city workers keep beauty front and center, softening all the concrete and steel of the skyscrapers around us. A black planter along the street overflows with petunias and sweet potato vine, and the coleus and other flowers outside my building have exploded after all this rain and humidity. What’s Been On My Heart How often do you...
My girls have raved about their air fryers for years, and I just nodded along. Two people who don't eat much fried food don't need another gadget, especially in a condo with barely enough cabinet space for what we already own. Then I set off the smoke alarm heating pot stickers in a pan on the stove. Again. 🤦🏻♀️ For the bazillionth time. 🫤 Yes, that's a word. This week, I finally bought the air fryer. Dinner came out perfect in ten minutes. No oven to heat up, no alarm blaring through the...
