Growing up, we had people staying in our home all the time. My parents treated everyone the same, regardless of their name, status, or job title. That example stuck with me. Recently, I’ve had the opportunity to meet a few people I deeply respect for their writing and ministry. Each time, I’ve counted it a privilege to serve them as they serve others. And every encounter reminds me that, no matter who we are or what we’ve done, we all need grace. Consider This week I met Anne Graham Lotz—one of my favorite speakers and authors. She made a comment that stopped me in my tracks: “Jesus never had a new thought.” Why? Because Jesus is all-knowing. Always has been. “In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created,[a] and his life brought light to everyone.” He knows your whole story. He knew it from the beginning of time. Nothing catches Him off guard—not the betrayal, not the fear, not even your doubts. Reflect Jesus sees you. And he’s not surprised by your pain or your process. He walks with you through it. What would it feel like to rest in that kind of knowing today? How can you let this truth shape the way you live your life? Your Connection Opportunity Staggered by betrayal? Last week, I called my dear friend Linda. It’d been a while since we’d chatted. During that time, I admitted how weary I felt. Saying “weary” seemed dramatic, yet it was accurate. Weary means exhausted in strength, endurance, vigor, or freshness according to Merriam-Webster. In that weariness, God reminded me to come to him through another wise woman’s text message, which pointed me to Colossians 1:11-12 NLT We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will...
Happy Labor Day if you live in the United States. Maybe, like me, you’re realizing that summer adventures often take more energy than they give. Dave and I discovered recently that we don’t vacation very well—most of ours have something to do with work. That’s why we declared this long weekend “Unlabor Day.” A chance to step back, breathe, and simply be. And we will plan a true vacation for 2026. 😉 Stay tuned. One of the cruelest side effects of betrayal is how it attacks your identity. Even if you don’t say it out loud, you wonder: What did I do wrong? Why wasn’t I enough? Friend, I see you. And I want you to hear this clearly: His betrayal is not a reflection of your worth. Consider When someone you love breaks trust, it shakes everything—including your sense of self. You might start picking yourself apart, blaming yourself, or questioning everything about who you are. But the truth is:You didn’t...
