🍨 Ice Cream and A Thought Shift That Changes Everything

On a recent walk through the city, we stumbled upon these unexpected beauties tucked between concrete and steel:

It always amazes me how something as simple as flowers can soften even the hardest surroundings. They surprise me with joy—like a quiet reminder that beauty can bloom anywhere. 🌸

Consider

That little pop of beauty made me think of another joy-filled moment from this week.

At church on Sunday, we were asked to introduce ourselves to someone new and share our favorite summer food. Ice cream immediately popped into my head. 🍦

When it’s hot and muggy 🥵, the last thing I want is something heavy. I’ve even been known to make ice cream the main course.

Anyone else? (You know you’ve done it… or at least wanted to!) 😆

What’s your favorite summertime treat? Hit reply and let me know—I’d love to hear!

Reflect

Later in the week, a verse from my devotional stopped me in my tracks:

“If you search for good, you will find favor; but if you search for evil, it will find you!” Proverbs 11:27

It made me pause and ask: What am I searching for each day?

That reminded me of another verse:

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.“ Philippians 4:8

And then this truth hit home:

“Thinking determines our Beliefs, which initiates our Feelings, which propels our Behaviors, that affect our Outcomes (results).“ Dr. Gary Morais

God uses his word to shift our focus and renew our thoughts—if we let him.
