Last week, I got to spend time with my daughter, son-in-love, and grandkids. What a joy to be in their home, part of their daily life, and even some special activities. With six kids, there’s a lot going on in that house! So many memories of our house when our kids were all home. At this point in my life, perspective has shifted. Have you felt that in your life? What seemed so important now looks different. As I chatted with my grandkids, I thought about how I wanted to encourage them to be more like Jesus. Life decisions, like next steps after high school, are big choices—they matter. But at this point in my life, knowing that my children and grandchildren have accepted Jesus’ gift of salvation and will spend eternity with God means more than anything else. Reflect 2 Corinthians 5:7 says “For we live by believing and not by seeing.” God’s perspective differs from yours and mine. We see what’s around us, but God sees the unseen, spiritual world as well. Ask him today to show you his perspective on that thing twisting your heart in knots—and watch how he guides you. 🙏🏻 May I pray for you? Dear God, show Reader your fresh perspective today. Help Reader to look beyond what she sees, to use her spiritual eyes to look for your good gifts today. You continue working miracles. Let Reader recognize them. Where there is overwhelm, breathe your peace. When Reader feels burdened by circumstances, bring encouragement to lighten the load. Thank you, God, for always being present in Reader’s circumstances. You are good. Amen |

Thank you for praying for Dave and me these past couple of months. Truly. May I tell you what God did? We didn’t see it coming either. Ever since moving to the Windy City, we’ve been renting. In our first twelve months here, we moved twice. Moving here isn’t simple—and it’s certainly not inexpensive. What we never imagined? Buying the condo where we currently live. I won’t bore you with the details, but I will say this: God arranged everything in such a way that we now own our condo outright....
Happy New Year. 🎉It’s the first full week of January 2026. How are you doing—really?Dave and I arrived home this weekend, and as I was settling back in, I found myself thinking about years past. There was a season when we spent the final days of the year and January 1 together in a retreat-like space—quiet, reflective, unhurried. As I closed out 2025 and stepped into 2026, I realized how much I missed that. We haven’t had that opportunity for several years now, and the ache surprised me.So I’m...
Can you believe it’s the last week of 2025? I don’t know about you, but this time of year always carries a mix of emotions for me—gratitude, relief, sadness, hope…sometimes all at once. Dave and I were able to connect with all our family on Christmas Day. We’re incredibly thankful for technology that made that possible. I thought you might enjoy seeing a picture of our whole clan. We feel deeply grateful for our family—though I’ll be honest, it hasn’t always been easy or healthy with...
