What if God is already arranging the details?

Thank you for praying for Dave and me these past couple of months. Truly.

May I tell you what God did?

We didn’t see it coming either.

Ever since moving to the Windy City, we’ve been renting. In our first twelve months here, we moved twice. Moving here isn’t simple—and it’s certainly not inexpensive.

What we never imagined? Buying the condo where we currently live.

I won’t bore you with the details, but I will say this: God arranged everything in such a way that we now own our condo outright. From start to finish, it all happened in three weeks. Over the holidays.

Only God.

This has settled so many questions for Dave and me. It’s brought a deep sense of peace we didn’t even realize we were craving. So again—thank you for praying.

What’s Been On My Heart

About a year ago, I was challenged to bring God into every aspect of my business.

Not a new idea—but the challenge went deeper.

Pray about every decision.

Then wait quietly for God’s answer.

Do this daily.

You’d think I’d have this practice fully ingrained by now…But I don’t.

What I keep being reminded of is this: God cares about the little things in your life and mine. Even business decisions.

Jesus says it so simply in Matthew 7:7–8:

“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for.

Keep on seeking, and you will find.

Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.”

I’ve noticed something about myself. When I ask clearly—and then wait—God answers. When I rush ahead on my own? Much more stress and much less peace.

What about you?

Where might God be inviting you to keep asking…keep seeking…keep knocking?

I know what’s on my list.

Something for You

Here’s an article another author shared with me. I smiled the whole way through it, thinking how you might be blessed by it, too. It’s called “What Does Love Mean?”—where children describe love in their own words. Simple. Tender. Surprisingly profound.

I hope it encourages your heart today.

🙏🏻 A Prayer for You

Dear God, would You show Reader Your love today, so she can pour that love out on others? Where she sees obstacles or disappointments, gently remind her to bring them to You—and to listen for Your answer. We’re only two weeks into a brand-new year, yet she may already feel behind. Please show her how You are leading every step of the way. Thank You for Reader. She blesses me more than she knows through her presence, her interest, and her heart. Pour out Your abundance over her today. Meet every need—miraculously—because that is what You do. Amen.

Happy New Year. 🎉It’s the first full week of January 2026. How are you doing—really?Dave and I arrived home this weekend, and as I was settling back in, I found myself thinking about years past. There was a season when we spent the final days of the year and January 1 together in a retreat-like space—quiet, reflective, unhurried. As I closed out 2025 and stepped into 2026, I realized how much I missed that. We haven’t had that opportunity for several years now, and the ache surprised me.So I’m...

Can you believe it’s the last week of 2025? I don’t know about you, but this time of year always carries a mix of emotions for me—gratitude, relief, sadness, hope…sometimes all at once. Dave and I were able to connect with all our family on Christmas Day. We’re incredibly thankful for technology that made that possible. I thought you might enjoy seeing a picture of our whole clan. We feel deeply grateful for our family—though I’ll be honest, it hasn’t always been easy or healthy with...

Merry Christmas, dear one. 💛 Whether you’re bustling around getting ready for family or sitting quietly at home, I want you to know something: you are seen. You are heard and cherished. God loves you more than words can articulate. Immanuel—God with us. He is right there in your joy, your exhaustion, your quiet moments, and even the messy, messy ones. Not because you’ve done everything right, but because he adores you (Zephaniah 3:17). This Christmas, may you feel his presence in a fresh,...
