Dave and I are here this week serving with Inspiration Travel, and this place never gets old. Towering mountains, quiet water, air that feels like a gift. Getting to serve others as they experience it for the first time? Pure joy. Here are a few pictures. Would you say a prayer for us as we serve this group? We'd love that. ❤️ What’s Been On My Heart Early one morning, Bible open, I found myself back in Psalm 119. Verse 160 leapt off the page: "The very essence of your words is truth; all your just regulations will stand forever." — Psalm 119:160 (NLT) The essence of God’s words is truth. Truth is his very nature. God cannot be anything other than what he is. Dear one, in a world where pain, disappointment, and betrayal are real, knowing God is truth brings hope and comfort. His words cannot change because he cannot change. So when he says he sees you, he sees you. Rest in that today. Truth = God. Something for You The June issue of As For Me & My House magazine released this week, and I'm honored to have an article inside. My article this month: "The Marriage We Almost Didn't Keep." 👉 [Click here to access the June issue — and consider subscribing while you're there.] Each month you'll find encouraging, faith-filled articles covering the six areas that matter most: house, marriage, health, finances, community, and parenting. Wherever you are in your healing journey, I believe something in these pages will meet you there. 🙏🏻 A Prayer for You Dear God, The long season of spring is behind Reader now, and summer has arrived. Thank you for the strength you gave Reader to get here. As Reader opens the Bible this season, reveal your truth, not in a way that overwhelms, but in a way that settles deep. Let Reader know in their bones that your words are trustworthy because you are truth itself. Where trust has been broken, grow it back, slowly and gently, rooted in you. Give Reader moments of rest, of laughter, of real delight this summer. Thank you for being a God who always speaks truth and will never stop loving Reader. Amen. |
I empower faith-based women like you to recover well after discovering their husband's or significant others struggle with the dark places on the internet. Every Monday you'll receive encouragement and other carefully curated content to help you heal and find the freedom you desire.
Dave and I stood at our window on July 4th, watching a thunderstorm roll over the city like a held breath finally released. Lightning split the sky. Torrential rain flooded the streets below us. Then came the fog, thick and low, swallowing the skyline whole. We could hear fireworks somewhere inside it, but we just couldn't see them. One weather forecaster put it perfectly: the clouds changed colors, but nobody got the whole show. Disappointing, sure. But thank God for a livestream from...
This week, America turns 250. The Semiquincentennial, now there's a mouthful. 🎆 We're celebrating some birthdays in our house, too. Dave turns another year older on July 3, and our daughter-in-love Emily celebrates on the Fourth itself. Honestly, it doesn't get much better than that. And I will confess: I become an absolute child at a fireworks show. Wide eyes. Audible oohs and aahs. Zero dignity. Every single time. Dave and I stopped into a favorite old-time soda shop on our trip last week. The kind of place that still makes hand-scooped shakes, malts, and sodas the real way: actual ice cream and a long spoon, because it's so thick you need the spoon. We indulged. Completely. And sitting there, I kept thinking: it's these small things. Memories you've made before and choose to make again. The particular joy of being close enough to someone to share something ordinary together. Connection you can only...
