You Were on His Mind

It’s Holy Week. Yesterday, if you went to church, you most likely celebrated Palm Sunday. Jesus entered Jerusalem to cheering crowds, knowing that in a few days, they would be jeering.

While this week marks the most powerful moment on the Christian calendar (at least in my opinion), it also reminds me of the unimaginable cost Jesus willingly paid for our eternal relationship with God.

How about you?

Consider

Jesus—God in flesh—came to live as one of us.

He was misunderstood;
He loved deeply;
He spent hours in prayer;
He was falsely arrested, brutally beaten, and sentenced to die;
He was crucified—a death so horrific it's hard to comprehend;
He was buried in a borrowed tomb.

And then…
He rose again.

Jesus did what we never could.
We receive eternal life because He chose crucifixion to save us.
It was God’s plan from the beginning.

“The King of all kings saw us. When they ripped the flesh from His back, we were on His mind. When they pounded the stakes in His wrist and His heels, we were on His mind. When people spewed vulgar names, Jesus said, ‘You’re so worth it to me!’ We have always, even at our worst, been the object of His affection.” Lisa Harper, Bible teacher.

Jesus says you are worth His sacrifice.

How does Easter change the way you live?

Reflect

One of the most powerful ways to realign my heart with Jesus is through praise.

Psalm 89:1-2 NIV

I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever;

with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations.

I will declare that your love stands firm forever,

that you have established your faithfulness in heaven itself.

This week, try writing your own psalm or song to Jesus about what Easter means to you.

If you’re willing, I’d love to read it.

🙏🏻 May I pray for you?

Dear God, Thank you for Jesus. For a love so deep it endured pain, betrayal, and death—just to make a way back to You. Encourage Reader this week. Let them feel the weight of Your love and the joy of Your resurrection. Whether their heart is hurting or hopeful, let Easter remind them that hope is never lost with You.

Amen.
