The cooler weather finally arrived last week. Something about the lower temps brings out the best in my tea. ☕️ The crisp mornings rejuvenate me. I know January and February will bring their biting cold, but for now, I’m savoring the simple joys—the smell of turning leaves, cozy sweaters, and the peaceful rhythm of autumn. 🍁 Consider When was the last time you asked God for something bold? A few years ago, our pastor challenged us to pray bold prayers. I’d never really thought about that before. But when I looked at Scripture, I saw King David doing it all the time. Look at Psalm 86:1: “Bend down, O LORD, and hear my prayer; You know that secret thing you’re desperate for but are afraid to say out loud? Risk being vulnerable with Him. Reflect Take a few quiet moments to read all of Psalm 86. Notice the bold words and confident tone of David’s prayer. My Bible says this psalm is “a prayer of David.” Using it as your guide, write out your own letter or prayer to God. Be honest. Ask boldly. Then pay attention to how He responds—and note the ways He answers. 🙏🏻 May I pray for you? Dear God, You invite Reader to bring everything to you. Jesus told us to ask for what we need and desire—not because you’re a genie waiting to grant wishes, but because you love and delight in Reader. Thank you for being a safe place where she can be honest and vulnerable. Remind Reader that you hold her heart gently and always want what’s best for her. Amen |

It’s been a week. Full of schedule changes, cancellations, appointments, and a whole lot of hurry-up-and-wait. I told Dave I feel far behind in almost every area of my life. The balls keep dropping with no end in sight. Everything feels important—thankfully not urgent—but I still struggle to meet each deadline with grace and confidence. And even though I know God is with me, leading and steadying me, the doubts still pile up. Each day, I’ve reminded myself to be grateful because God continues...
The leaves are absolutely stunning around here these days. 🍁 I love the riot of colors and the gentle sound they make as they drift to the ground. Walking home from church this week, Dave and I found ourselves kicking through piles of leaves along the walkway—laughing as we remembered all those years of raking leaves into big heaps and tossing our kids into them. (Sometimes we jumped in too!) Photo by Scott Webb on Unsplash I’m so grateful for simple joys like that. Maybe your life doesn’t...
Last week, I got to spend time with my daughter, son-in-love, and grandkids. What a joy to be in their home, part of their daily life, and even some special activities. With six kids, there’s a lot going on in that house! So many memories of our house when our kids were all home. At this point in my life, perspective has shifted. Have you felt that in your life? What seemed so important now looks different. As I chatted with my grandkids, I thought about how I wanted to encourage them to be...
