What if your "not enough" isn't the whole story?

Alaska does not disappoint. We've had a stretch of uncharacteristically sunny, temperate weather this past week, and I've been collecting pictures from every stop along the way. Sometimes, when you least expect it, God pours out even more blessing. What’s Been On My Heart This week, being surrounded by all that beauty put a question in front of me I couldn't shake: what if I'm not equipped for what's ahead? Maybe you've felt that too. You approach a situation feeling less than adequate. Then someone else, a spouse or a best friend, looks at that same situation with no clear picture of the outcome, maybe even convinced it's impossible. Two sets of inadequacy, standing side by side. We were never meant to do life alone. It's only when we bring our inadequacies together that we start to see the magic happen. Through God's wisdom, he takes what we see as not enough and transforms it into completeness. What looks impossible to us is only potential to God. God told Joshua the same thing before sending him to lead an entire nation into land he'd never walked, to conquer people he'd never faced, and to take possession of ground he hadn't yet seen: "This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." — Joshua 1:9 (NLT) Just like Joshua didn't conquer the land alone, your inadequacy combined with another's becomes enough in God's hands.
